The Muscatine Art Center is a municipal museum and department of the City of Muscatine. Employment opportunities are posted on the City of Muscatine’s website at www.muscatineiowa.gov. Four full-time employees and five part-time employees are currently on staff at the Muscatine Art Center. Beyond the regular staff, there is a team of dedicated volunteers, interns, Friends board members, members of the Board of Trustees, the Advisory Committee for the Muscatine Art Center Support Foundation, donors to the collection, artists, educators, studio instructors, Friends members, financial donors, City employees and officials, community leaders, corporate sponsors, business owners, granting organizations, cultural organizations, peers around the state, and others who contribute to the Muscatine Art Center’s successes.

Internships

The Muscatine Art Center is seeking a part-time intern for summer 2026. The intern will report to the Education Coordinator and assist with programming for children including studio classes, outreach, summer tours, and events. A stipend of $3,000 is available for a commitment of 175 hours during the months of June, July, and August. The schedule is flexible so long as hours occur Tuesday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. with potentially some evenings and weekends for special events. The expectation is that the intern will work 175 hours, and the intended duration may be adjusted based on the individual needs of the intern.
