Artist Workshops for Kids with Miss Julie - Sailors Valentine - February 14

Students will craft their own valentine on this special day, creating their own version of a sailors valentine from the late 1800s. These intricate, handcrafted shell mosaics were sold to sailors on whaling and merchant’s ships as souvenirs for loved ones back home. Register by February 12.

This free class is open to kids ages 7 to 14 and their families. Please register by February 12 by calling the Muscatine Art Center at 563-263-8282.

In the “Artist Workshops for Kids”, formerly known as “Kids Saturday Workshops”, kids can join Miss Julie to create their own masterpieces! In these free workshops, kids can learn about the lives and works of famous artists from around the world, usually in their birthday month. Participants will recreate a project in the featured artist's style. Throughout the year there will be additional classes where we'll learn about other cultures, celebrate different holidays, and more!
