Artist Workshops for Kids - Saul Steinberg Doodles - June 17
Celebrate Romanian-American artist Saul Steinberg by drawing whimsical doodles and turning a paper bag into a mask. This free class is open to kids ages 7 to 14 and their families. Please register by June 16 by calling the Muscatine Art Center at 563-263-8282.
In the “Artist Workshops for Kids”, formerly known as “Kids Saturday Workshops”, kids can join Miss Julie to create their own masterpieces! In these free workshops, kids can learn about the lives and works of famous artists from around the world and recreate a project in their style. Throughout the year there will be additional classes where we will learn about other cultures, celebrate different holidays, and more!
Famed worldwide for giving graphic definition to the postwar age, Saul Steinberg (1914-1999) had one of the most remarkable careers in American art. While renowned for the covers and drawings that appeared in The New Yorker for nearly six decades, he was equally acclaimed for the drawings, paintings, prints, collages, and sculptures he exhibited internationally in galleries and museums.
